Our latest project at Halliford School is nearing completion in plenty of time for the start of the new academic year. We have worked at the school previously designing and building a Performing Arts Centre and then a Sports Centre with spectator gallery and library, see:
Our current project involves the design and build of a Music, Art and Sixth Form Centre which will provide state-of-the-art music practice rooms and recording studio for the pupils.
On the ground floor there is the sixth form study and social area along with classrooms, offices, seminar rooms and a café. On the first floor is the Ensemble room with theatre style seating on the second floor along with a recording studio. The rest of the first floor will be used for art and ceramic classrooms. The second floor provides classrooms for music theory, IT music, individual practice classrooms and a practice recording studio. In all classrooms interactive white board paint has been used on one wall and in the music rooms there are acoustic panels on all walls.
The building uses an air source heat pump, under-floor heating and gas fired boilers.
Ubique Architects worked with us on all three projects to provide a successful design solution that meets the needs of both the pupils and staff at the school.
