Work has started on our £11m scheme to construct 15 townhouses along with an access road in Chantry Vew Road, Guildford. The 3 storey townhouses will have roof top gardens and either double garages or external car parking. Each unit comprises of four bedrooms, with an en-suite and bathrooms, an open plan living area with dining space, a kitchen and lounge area. There is a cinema / games rooms, utility room, wine cellar and plant room, along with balconies on each house.
The project is taking place in an old quarry in Guildford which was used as a shooting practice range during the First World War. Work is currently underway to stabilise the side of the quarry through the use of vertical technologies. Retaining walls will be constructed behind each house following the stabilisation works. Trees are being protected and an old kiln restored.
Excavation works are underway to provide an access road, along with the construction of a retaining wall. The excavation works will also enable a water management solution using a Polystem Modular Cell System to be installed to ensure surface water runs away to avoid flooding in the future.
All work is being carried out for Latchmere Properties, a leading developer of bespoke homes in Surrey.
