This contract involved the construction of a five storey, 21st Century ‘Georgian’ townhouse, with a glass study room on the top level and basement underground. The new house offers accommodation for both family and working life with good acoustic separation. The basement provides an office and children’s playroom and the ground floor has a 30m long hall, reception space, kitchen and garden room. On the second and third floors are compartmentalised sleeping and dressing spaces, with the fathers study on the fourth floor.
Built on a very tight and restricted site, the house’s street facing façade is composed of a three storey block clad in Portland Stone. Services are conventional, and there are two sedum roofs.
