Grange Park SEN School
Under a design and build contract, Grange Park Special School which has 55 places, with an age range of 11 to 16 years was relocated from Leybourne to the Wrotham School site. The single storey, curved building provides a learning environment for young people with severe communication needs associated with a combination of autism and acute learning difficulties. The school includes a green roof and a rainwater harvesting system. Photo voltaic panels are on the sports hall roof to provide electricity for some of the heating of the school.
Throughout the building is Kallwall which has aesthetic qualities for autistic children, it reduces the suns glare whilst providing natural light throughout the school.
