To date we have completed two projects at Eastbourne College, a co-educational school for boarders and day pupils. The first was the construction of a four storey dormitory building and the second is the recently completed, Birley Centre providing the College with a fantastic performing arts and music facility. The Birley Centre was built on an extremely tight site with residential roads on two sides and existing College buildings on the other sides of the site, communication to the community and College was vital. A tower crane was used throughout the build as materials and supplies had to be lifted into place due to tightness of the site. Once the reinforced concrete frame was in place the roof area was used for material storage. The roof area is now generally sedum with a metal clad pitched roof over the main auditorium.
The new facility will provides a 300 seat auditorium with stage area, practice rooms, drum rooms, a recording studio, individual classrooms and offices.
