Quality of Workmanship

Quality is driven throughout Durtnell from board level downwards. We hold Quality Assurance Standard ISO 9001:2008, but in practice quality for Durtnell means:

  • Zero defects
  • Right first time
  • Delivery on time and to budget
  • Innovating for the benefit of our client
  • Exceeding customer expectations
  • Pro-active after care service

Day-to-day quality control is maintained by our experienced site managers who are all time-served tradesmen. We monitor our performance throughout the project lifetime with regular quality audits by our contracts manager to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the specification and standards agreed.

Aftercare Team
Prior to completion of a project, our after care team will visit site to meet the relevant personnel who will be responsible for the site. If there is a problem at any stage after we have left site, our team will ensure that an effective repair is implemented with least inconvenience to users of the building.

  • We strive to meet all relevant legislation, regulations, government guidance, and the industry code of practice on environmental policies
  • We make efficient use of natural resources by minimising waste, conserving energy and water, and seeking to use re-cycled materials where possible
  • We use and maintain modern and efficient plant and transport which have a reduced impact on the environment
  • We ensure that our staff and suppliers are aware of this policy and encourage them to apply similar environmental standards to their own work
  • We use timber from sustainable sources
  • We procure materials in a manner that ensures waste on site is minimised
  • We segregate different types of waste that arise from our works and recycle materials wherever practical

Durtnell has undertaken a number of projects implementing specific and often innovative features designed to reduce the environmental impact of buildings. This experience incorporates passive ventilation systems, high levels of insulation, use of recycled materials and the incorporation of economically viable energy systems.
