This contract entailed the construction of a high quality two storey house with basement along with a single storey south wing. The basement is of waterproof concrete construction, a steel frame forms the basic house structure, while the floors are concrete. Externally, walls are of stone and brick construction, with natural slates on the roof and windows are generally in oak. At this site the water table level is high and sheet piling was therefore required around the basement area to enable works to be carried out.
The project went onto win a RIBA Regional Award, a Grand Designs Award for Best New Build, an award for Outstanding Craftsmanship in the Wood Awards and Best Craftsmanship in the Brick Awards.
